‘One of the leading Indian percussionists and composers’, ‘Rhythm Queen’ & ‘Tabla phenomenon,’ Anuradha Pal is the ‘First Professional Female Tabla virtuoso in the World’, an acknowledged ‘Torchbearer of Indian Classical Music’, ‘Trail blazer’, ‘Trendsetter’, Multi- percussionist, a ‘National pride’ and ‘inspiration’ for her dedication & contribution in propagating Indian Music, culture, female empowerment & equality across the globe!! Anuradha has been enthralling audiences worldwide with her diverse offerings as a Tabla soloist, accompanist with top class musicians, Fusion bands – Stree Shakti & Su-Fo-Re and collaborations with World Music be it Folk, Semi classical, Western classical, New age, Jazz, Latin, African, Flamenco along with Fashion, painting, poetry & Kathak. A recipient of the ‘First Ladies’ National Award from the President of India, Anuradha made India proud by becoming the youngest Indian musician and the first female Indian Musician, to ever perform at the world-famous Woodstock Festival (2008) & WOMAD Festival (1999). With the blessings of her family & Gurus, Ustads Alla Rakha & Zakir Hussain, Anuradha has performed extensively with World-renowned Musicians & regaled dignitaries like Honourable President & Prime Minister of India & Queen Elizabeth at major diplomatic events. Anuradha Pal ‘stormed the male bastion of Indian Rhythm’ as a child prodigy when barely ten years old, thus becoming a pioneer, firmly establishing herself as a ‘colossus on the percussion firmament’; thereby ‘shattering gender biases & empowering women to pursue more creative paths’.
