Manu S Pillai

Manu S Pillai was born in Kerala and educated at Fergusson College, Pune and King’s College, London. He has written the books ,The Ivory Throne: Chronicles of the House of Travancore, and Rebel Sultans: The Deccan from Khilji to Shivaji. The former is a history of Kerala and won him the Sahitya Akademi Yuva Puraskar in 2017 and the 2016 Tata Prize for best first work of non-fiction. He writes a weekly coloumn for Mint Lounge and more of his writings have appeared in The Hindu, Open Magazine, the Times of India, Hindustan Times, and other publications. He was a chief of staff to Dr. Shasi Tharoor MP in New Delhi. He has worked with Lord Karan Billimoria at the House of Lords in Britain. He has worked with the BJP in their Incarnations history series.
