T V Anupama

T V Anupama is an IAS Officer in Kerala, India. As a young girl from Malappuram, india, she had always nurtured the dream of becoming an IAS officer. She was educated at BITS Pilani in Goa, one of India’s premiere engineering institutions. In 2010, she had secured the All India Rank in the UPSC examinations. In 2014, she took on a CITU convenor for demanding gawking wages or Nokkukooli- money paid to union workers to simply watch private labour load and unload goods. This had created a stir in the media. In 2015, Anupama was made the Food Safety Commissioner of Kerala . She conducted raids and sent samples for testing, exposing high levels of pesticides. As a result of her efforts in the post of Food Safety Commissioner, the State of Kerala now grows most of its produce locally. In 2017, she was appointed as the 48th District Collector of Alappuzha district in Kerala.
