Vinod Kumar

Vinod Kumar is executive director of Maithri, an NGO. Maithri is working with several agencies with the objective of strengthening the capacity of local governments on natural resource management and alleviating poverty. He was instrumental in piloting Jalanidhi, MGNREGS, IWMP, IHSDP, MKSP etc. in Kerala. He coordinated the development of state master plan for IWMP, state level mapping of schools in the context of Right to Education Act, development of District level perspective plans on MGNREGS, Local government level plans for slum development, watershed development, disaster preparedness etc., mapping of paddy fields of Palakkad, Malappuram and Thrissur districts under MKSP etc., assessment of sand in Bharatapuzha etc. He was instrumental in the formation of Coconut Producer Societies, their federations and Producer Companies since 2012 in partnership with Coconut Development Board.
