KRITHI is an initiative by the Co-operative Department of the Kerala State Government.The one big community which has played a pivotal role in shaping the State’s destiny is the Co-operative Sector. Today the Co-operative sector plays a prominent role in all major sectors of development, viz. infrastructure development, health, education, banking, industries, hospitality, agriculture, etc Kerala may arguably be the only place in the world to form a Writers Co-operative, ‘Sahithya Pravarthaka Co-operative Society’ (SPCS) that too, way back in 1945. SPCS, with its legendary track record of yesteryears, has been mandated the task of organising the KRITHI Festival Professionals with expertise and global experience in emerging and cutting-edge technologies are now contributing to the development of the State through the Co-operative venture ‘Samoohya Samrambhaka Co-operative Society’ (SAMOOH) who are conceiving and executing the Festival.

Kerala, the most literate Indian state where reading is in the blood of common man and freedom of expression is sacrosanct, is at the forefront of nurturing a literary eco system that transcends beyond boundaries. Today, the Government of Kerala takes a leap and brings together literary lovers across the globe through an international platform – International Book Fair 2019. The fair which will be held from 8th -17th february 2019 at the Marine Drive grounds, Kochi, Kerala, will be a one of kind platform for international, national and local publishers who wish to reach out to the most well informed audiences with a rich literary lineage.
