N. Ravikiran
“If you don’t believe in God, look at Ravikiran”, thus declared Pandit Ravi Sankar about N. Ravikiran, the God gifted chitraveena maestro. Born into a family of musicians, Ravikiran made his debut chitraveena concert at the age of 11. An instrumentalist, vocalist, author and orator, Ravikiran is also the creator of the concept called melharmony, an avant-garde form of music composing that explores new harmonies and voice leading anchored on melodic progression. At present, Ravikiran has over 800 Indian and world music compositions to his credit, thus becoming the most prolific composer of his era. He has also discovered ragas such as snehapriya, keshavapriya, andhakaarini and mohini. This ace musician is also a renowned dance and opera music composer, art educator and a brand ambassor of music and culture who has performed extensively in schools and colleges of various countries and a versatile genius who has taken classical music to the masses.
