Shaji N. Karun is one of the distinguished film makers in Kerala who has gained international acclaim. He enrolled in the Film and Television Institute of India in the cinematography course and graduated by winning the President’s Gold Medal. Joining the Malayalam industry as a cinematographer, Shaji worked with most of the leading directors of the time. His association with the legendary director G Aravindan was fruitful enough to change his approach towards the process of film making. His debut film Piravi was awarded with various national and international honours. He has linked with many activities by Government of India and Kerala where he served in the capacities of advisory status on policy decisions. His films have won recognition’s in the prestigious international film festivals of Cannes, London, Locarno and France. His notable films Include Piravi, Swaham, Nishad, Kutty Sranku and Swapaanam. Shaji N. Karun is the creative Director of the Krithi International Festival of Books & Authors 2018 and aslo a key speaker in the program.
