Shashi Tharoor
Shashi Tharoor is one of the prominent writers in Indian Writing in English. He is well known for his experimental writing both in fiction and non-fiction works. Basically, an Indian civil servant and a star journalist, Tharoor is known as a political thinker and an intellectual both nationally and internationally. He has been in the U.N for more than twenty-five years. He is also known as a compelling speaker.His magnum opus The Great Indian Novel(1989) bagged the Commonwealth Writers’ Prize for the Best Book of the Year in the Eurasian Region(1991). He was also awarded the prestigious PravasiBharatiyaSamman, India’s highest honour for non-resident Indians in 2004 and PETA’s “Person of the Year” award in 2013.
