Kalki Subramaniam

The first transgender woman in India to do a lead role in a motion picture, KalkiSubramaniamwas chosen by Facebook as one of the 12 inspiring women of the world who used Facebook for community development in 2014. Subramaniam opened the “Sahaj” International school, which is dedicated to educating transgender students who are not supported bythe mainstream schools, in 2017.In 2008 she founded an organisation “Sahodari” that still fuels the fights for justice of the transgender community. The newly found painter, Kalki is the rarest but the mightiest of the transgender voice. Her poems are included in the collection KuriAruthean.
